The animal behind the card
Often, the mother assists the young out of the nest, gently carrying them in her powerful jaws to the safety of a nursery pool. There, they congregate in chirping clusters, communicating with squeaks and grunts that keep them connected.
Insects, small fish and amphibians make up their first meals, hunted in shallow, sun warmed water. Although small now, each Crocodile Hatchling carries within it the blueprint of a future apex predator.
